5 World's Tallest Bridge

1. Millau Bridge (le Viaduc de Millau), 341 meters
le Viaduc de Millau is a French road bridge, cross the valley of the River Tarn in southern French. Millau is highest bridge in the world, designed by French bridge engineer with the milestones peak at 341 meters; slightly higher than the Eiffel tower and shorter than the Empire Building State.



Millau officially opened on December 14th, 2004 and opened for traffic two days later on December 16th, 2004.




2. Sutong Yangtze River Bridge, 306 meters
 is a cable-stayed bridge, stretches over the Yangtze river between Nantong and Changshu, China. On 2010, this bridge is world's longest span. There are four small cable range and the two sides spans, each of them is about 300 feet. Sutong Yangtze River Bridge received an award of Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement (OCEA) on 2010 from American Society of Civil Engineers.

3. Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge, 298.3 meters
Akashi-Kaikyo is located at Japan, linking Maiko in Kobe with Awaji city on Awaji island.


This is a suspension bridge, and looks so wonderful at night, with the glittering lights of various colors like a rainbow. This bridge is also best known as the Pearl Bridge.

Physical development of Akashi-Kaikyo bridge began in 1998and opened to the public on April 5th, 1998.

4. Stonecutters Bridge, 298 meters
This one is the cable-stayed bridge, too, across the Rambler Channel in Hong Kong and connecting Tsing Yi island, Nam Wak Kok, and Stonecutter island. On April 7th, 2009, Stonecutters bridge be the world's second longest bridge in cable-stayed span, opened to the general traffic on December 20, 2009.



The bridge's construction started on April 27th, 2004 by some companies, like Maeda-Hitachi-Yokogawa-Hsin Chong, and spent about HK $2.76 billion



5. Great Belt Fixed Link, 254 meters
is a bridge, located between Denmark and Funen in the Great Belt. This bridge has a high construction reaches 254 meters and a main span of the third longest in the world.
